Friday Reads: A Proper Family Holiday

A Proper Family Holiday by Chrissie Manby

The nights have become much cooler here lately but we've been blessed with warm, sunny days. With one week to go until the first day of fall I'm keeping the spirit of summer alive, just a little bit longer, with A Proper Family Holiday by British author Chrissie Manby.

It's not evident from the book's cover where this family holiday takes place so I sneaked a peak a few pages in and discovered they're off to Lanzarote. I've never heard of it but Google tells me it's one of the Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the northwest coast of Africa. Perhaps it's one of those holiday destinations more popular with European travellers. I'm happy to go along for the ride and learn more about the island paradise of Lanzarote.

Chrissie Manby's website is christinemanby.com.

Have you ever vacationed in the Canary Islands?
