Friday Reads: Death in Provence

Death in Provence by Serena Kent

This week I'm treating myself to Death in Provence, the first book by the husband-and-wife writing team of Deborah Lawrenson and Robert Rees, aka Serena Kent.

When Penelope Kite moves to a picturesque farmhouse in the South of France, she imagines a simple life of long lunches and chilled rosé... What she doesn't imagine is the dead body floating in her swimming pool.

I'm having so much fun following Penelope around the Luberon as she browses local markets, gives in to the temptation of delicious French pastries, and becomes increasingly curious about the "Silver Fox" driving a red Ferrari.

I hope to see many more novels by Serena Kent. This new writing team could help fill the void left by the passing of Peter Mayle who also wrote mysteries set in the South of France.

Serena Kent's website is serena-kent.com.
