The French have earned a reputation for fine food and examples can be seen everywhere, from posh restaurants and village markets to shop window displays. The sweet treats in this patisserie window made me stop and say "yummy"!
I never was into French food, but I haven't tried much. Now that I'm Beijing, ironically, I have found several French (or French inspired) bakeries, and now my favorite breakfast is a true croissant. America doesn't know pastries, I gotta say. ... or maybe I just never knew where to go.
